Tips to Conquer your New Year Resolution

December 16, 2020

Around this period, annually, we start planning out our New Year’s resolution. Some people shoot for losing weight while others try and break bad habits. At some point, chances are it will get to be hard, and you may find yourself wanting to back out of the commitment. If you’re one of those who struggle with commitment, then here are some tips to help you out.

Plan Ahead:

The last thing you want to do is go into January 1st with no game plan. You are setting yourself up for failure at that point. If you plan to eat healthier, then draw up a meal plan and set up a grocery pickup for the beginning of the month.

Personal tip:For many years, I’ve learned to start introducing my NYR around December. Overall, it helps both my mind and body to prepare for what’s to come.

Let Your Friends and Family in on the plan:

Discussing your plans with friends and family can help you figure out precisely what you are trying to accomplish. Sometimes these people know us better than ourselves, see what they have to say.

Be Realistic:

Making a goal out of reach is setting yourself up for failure. Small steps will have a more significant impact and may even change your life.

Keep Up With Your Progress:

Every accomplishment, big or small, is an accomplishment, and you should always keep up with them.

Personal Tip: If you plan on losing weight for 2021, then work towards it slowly. Plan on dropping 25 pounds? Split those pounds up throughout the year and track your progress that way.

Down Tear Yourself Up:

We all mess up; remember that. If you find yourself breaking your NYR, don’t think of it as the end of the world. Instead, get back up and keep going!

Keep On Pushing!

January will be a long month, but if you set your mind on what you are trying to accomplish, it will start the new you.

Happy New Year!
